TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1
Had doc appt. so pretty much skipped preschool, but that sort of came back to bite me because we hadn't "filled benson's bucket" and so he was intense and hard to redirect while teaching others but he was good engaged during Aussie studies.

Read a couple chapters in Harry Potter #2 (eliza really wants sam to finish reading the series so they can play pretend Harry Potter games. Eliza got tired of reading aloud so I took over. She is a really dynamic reader and its fun to watch them read together.)
Sam read Bark George and Give a Cat a Cupcake to Benson for bed time.
Bingley had first day of Puppy Training school

- Watched Unpack your adjectives movie from School House Rock
- Taught Cinquain poetry to reinforce parts of speech.
- Created cinquain from chosen Australian animal, used research from the research and paragraphs they wrote yesterday about the animals.
- Did example together of Benson's chosen animal, Koala

- Letter F - learned how to write big and little f (He called the little f a candy cane with a cross.)

- Watched 5 green and speckled frogs song a bunch of times on Coco Melon
- Acted out the frog song with our origami song and practiced counting them
- Played "fee fi fo fum" game (giant pretend sleeps on couch while someone hides "jack" his doll, then giant awakes and says fee fi fo fum and finds jack. Sam said "Fee fi fo fum I smell the bum of an english mum.")
- Talked about circles with our science scavenger hunt treat "Roundies"

THURSDAY-
We had the kids present their slides on their Australian animal of choice, and read their cinquain poem to everyone. They all did a good job. We read the book Possum Magic, learned about some famous foods and cities in Australia. Then wrote a story about what we would do if we were invisible like the little possum in the book and what foods we would eat and places we would go to become un-invisible.
Benson and I read F books, Fire Fighter Ted and Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Sam read Freckle Juice by Judy Blume
Ally went to dermatologist and learned about acne and skin care. Fascinating stuff, that.
FRIDAY-
Ended our visit to Australia with a trip to the Souvenir Shop to spend our hard earned Tiki Bucks.
Girls did short "wonder studies" about their topics of choice.
