What a strange year in the world. As schools are announcing their back to school plans for how to school during Covid-19 pandemic many families are looking into homeschool. A lot of folks experienced how not fun online public school can be when quarantine began in March. I am glad to see people are looking into taking charge of their kids' education instead of doing that bit again. I'm definitely in that camp. I have spent the summer planning for fall as I'll be teaching Pre-K, 3, 5 and 7th grades at home next year. I love looking into different curricula and making plans. For me that is a very fun part. For others it is completely overwhelming. But I have tried and failed and tried and succeeded at enough different things that I have a good idea of what I like. That was a steep learning curve for me as I am sure it will be for others as well. I feel like this is kind of similar to how the prophets tell us to plant a garden. Maybe not so it can feed us right now, but so that if it ever is what we HAVE to do we will have failed enough times before that to confidently press forward with what is foreign to everyone else.
I am thinking through Curriculum today and wanted to brain dump a bit so I can keep it straight in my head.
